Dmitriy Selivokhin (Moscow)
Museum design – dialogue or confrontation?

06 April 2016 at 18:30

Lecture Hall of the PRO ARTE Foundation

Peter and Paul Fortress, St. Petersburg

Dmitry Selivohin is an architect and a founder of the «Narodniy Arkhitektor» bureau in Moscow. There are many realized projects in the field of museum design in the bureau`s portfolio. To mention just a few – the rebranding of the Schusev State Museum of Architecture and the Museum of the Contemporary History of Russia, the development of the navigation system for the Darwin Museum, the development of virtual museums for the World Ocean Museum and the Museum of the Contemporary History of Russia.

At the lecture Dmitry will talk about possible difficulties that could arise in the common projects of museum experts and designers. What usually prevents their effective dialogue? How to build a co-operation between museum and designer and not to make mistakes? Dmitry will be answering these questions using his own practical experience as a staring point.
